We’ve Partnered with Marmalade

Technical Update: As of March 2017, Marmalade will cease production and support of the Marmalade Game Platform, and instead focus on creating games. The GameAnalytics integration will continue to work in the short-term, but users will not be able to use their Marmalade account to login. Please check our docs page to download an alternative game engine SDK for GameAnalytics.

We are proud to announce that we have a new dedicated SDK joining our family: Marmalade. We’ve partnered up with the great people developing the award-winning, cross-platform engine and made it so that you can now integrate GameAnalytics into your game painlessly when using Marmalade. This new partnership builds on our desire to be the go-to platform for developers looking to make their mark on the industry, providing them with the richness and flexibility they need when collecting and analysing player behaviour data.

All you developers building your games with Marmalade will now get access to the GameAnalytics rich data by easily integrating the dedicated GameAnalytics Marmalade SDK. After instrumentation is complete, we’ll take care of the rest! We’ll process the millions of events you send us and transform them into valuable, accessible and actionable insights to help you improve your game.

“We’re incredibly excited to about partnering up with Marmalade to help even more developers build great games with better insights into player behavior. Analytics has become an increasingly important subject for game producers and developers. In concert with the tools of creativity, imagination and experience, game designers who make use of a solid data-driven approach are able to make the most informed and intelligent decisions, and will always have the upper hand. I’m confident that the use of analytics can help make even the best games better, so we can’t wait to see what Marmalade developers start analysing and optimizing their games” – Morten Wulff, GameAnalytics Co-founder.

By using GameAnalytics, you will have access to your player behaviour data broken down into 9 predefined dashboard readily available to you upon integration. You will also be able to create your own dashboards, and visualize the custom events you are tracking with our SDK. Additionally, we provide you with a way of contextualizing your metrics and compare them with those of other games using GameAnalytics, either as a whole or by the particular genres you are interested in. You can do this through our Benchmarks feature.

Our event structure is based on 5 event types built to track both the high-level KPIs needed to evaluate the overall health of your game, but also game concepts that enable a deep analysis into the way players interact with game content. This will allow you to identify the trends in terms of high-level KPIs in your game, but also to spot exactly what is driving those trends, and fixing any potential issues in game economy and UI/UX design.

After 4 years of providing a powerful and free analytics solution built specifically for games, we now have around 6000 active games in our network, and cater to 2200 studios. And we’re not stopping here. Though our REST API makes us platform agnostic, we will continue adding dedicated SDKs to facilitate analytics instrumentation to as many studios as possible, regardless of their choice in engines. Stay tuned!
