This allows us to track key metrics such as overall wins and loses, losses by waves and the win loss ratio. We use this data to help rebalance waves that may be too difficult or too easy for players. For example, we can monitor the win-loss ratio to determine how often players are completing waves. If this ratio is too low, it could indicate that a game mode is too difficult. If this ratio is too high, it might be too easy. We use these insights to balance our game by keeping the win-loss ratio lower for harder modes like hardcore, and higher around 3 to 4 for easier game modes. If something feels off, we can review the losses by waves and adjust the difficulty accordingly.
GameAnalytics gives insight into our players gameplay at a high level and also allows us to dig deep into the data to better expand and balance our content.
If I didn’t have access to Data Warehouse and that data, I wouldn’t be able to output anything useful. But the fact that I have access to that means that I don’t have to set up a database on our side.
